A Tribute to the Late, Esteemed Nasser Shahvazian

Written by Engineer Ashouri, Advisor to Nik Yazd Group

Indeed, a deeply moving and thought-provoking farewell was held for this honorable man, and the final image of his departure, magnificent and awe-inspiring, will remain forever etched in the memories of thousands, serving as a lasting source of inspiration.

To those who truly understood him, the extraordinary and influential life of this remarkable individual was a testament to enduring love, unwavering faith, and steadfast determination.

In the sorrowful yet profoundly resonant symphony of his farewell ceremonies, an extraordinary scene unfolded. It was as though countless hearts had joined together in a collective expression of gratitude, offering an exceptional farewell that fittingly reflected a lifetime of dignified effort, perseverance, and meaningful achievement.

The grandeur of these ceremonies was not the result of financial resources, management, or meticulous planning, although all were certainly available in abundance. Rather, what we witnessed was a spontaneous, humble, magnificent, and deeply touching expression of gratitude and respect, free from pretension or ostentation. It was the sincerity of people’s hearts that brought them together to mourn and accompany this noble man on his final journey.

He was a remarkable individual who never surrendered to life’s challenges, not even for a moment, and who inspired countless others to pursue progress and achievement.

A wise and capable leader, he tirelessly contributed to entrepreneurship, industrial production, and employment. He endured hardship and emerged stronger and more resilient through successive crises.

He was an instrument of goodness, entrusted by the Almighty, the ultimate Provider, with the noble mission of helping sustain the livelihoods and prosperity of the people of his homeland.

He was a man who believed in planting, not merely building.

He understood that what we harvest today was planted by those who came before us. With generosity and a profound sense of responsibility, he ensured that he would not remain indebted to the legacy of previous generations. Instead, he nurtured and expanded what had been entrusted to him, ultimately passing it on to those worthy of carrying it forward.

He patiently yet firmly cultivated his students and successors, generously sharing with them the precious wealth of his authentic experience. He believed that only someone who truly recognizes the value of a treasure can entrust it to the capable hands of future generations.

Here, one of the most remarkable dimensions of Nasser Shahvazian’s profound vision becomes evident.

He was, in every sense, a self-made man. He had relied on no inheritance other than his integrity, the blessings of sincere prayers, and the honest fruits of his labor. Everything he achieved was the result of relentless effort, perseverance, and personal sacrifice.

For this reason, as a true mentor, he firmly believed that the happiness and success of his children and students depended on teaching them not to become passive heirs or claimants to the fruits of others’ labor, even when those fruits belonged to a wealthy father.

Like many successful entrepreneurs, he could easily have surrounded his beloved children with comfort and luxury. Yet, with wisdom and foresight, he chose instead to instill in the next generation, particularly his worthy children, the timeless principle:

“No treasure is gained without effort.”

He remained deeply committed to this philosophy, never allowing emotional reactions or personal considerations to weaken his convictions.

Those who truly knew him understood the depth of his belief in this approach. To him, compromising these principles would have been an injustice both to the individual concerned and to the organization as a whole.

Yet he was also a man of profound affection and compassion, generous in spirit, openhearted, and always willing to extend a helping hand. Above all, he was an exemplary family man, devoted and loyal to those he loved.

Indeed, the greatness of exceptional individuals lies in their ability to reconcile seemingly opposing qualities and bring them into harmony.

Such individuals remain steadfast in their deeply held beliefs. Once convinced of a path or principle, they do not lose their focus when confronted with differing opinions. Even while maintaining genuine respect and consideration for others, they do not allow external judgments to undermine their convictions.

Today, the results of his vision and approach are evident for all to see, and critically evaluating them requires both courage and profound understanding.

One of the finest expressions of his commitment, sense of responsibility, and sincere goodwill toward society and future generations was his contribution to the development of educational and developmental infrastructure.

Like a compassionate and farsighted gardener, he planted the seeds of knowledge and awareness in the hearts and minds of the children of this land, leaving behind a legacy through which future generations would continue to flourish.

He understood that by the time those seeds had grown into strong, flourishing, and fruitful trees, he himself might no longer be present, having departed this world.

But a true gardener rises above noise and worldly recognition.

With his noble spirit, he rejected greed and self-importance, knowing that life is but a temporary journey. He regarded excessive attachment to worldly possessions and the pursuit of fame and wealth as distractions from life’s deeper purpose.

Yet the wisdom of the Creator encompasses all things, and no sincere act of goodness goes unrewarded.

For it is ultimately the Almighty who bestows the true treasure, in accordance with the effort and perseverance of each individual, neither more nor less.

I asked myself:

If I were to identify the most fundamental inner value, the true source of Haj Nasser Shahvazian’s inexhaustible passion and motivation, what would I say?

After a moment of reflection, my thoughts returned to the unforgettable celebration of the 20th anniversary of Nik Bespar, an occasion that, above all else, embodied the deep appreciation and respect felt for this extraordinary man.

During that ceremony, Haj Nasser spoke with a sparkle in his eyes, emotion in his voice, determination in his expression, firmness in his words, and tranquility in his heart.

With simplicity and sincerity, free from elaborate rhetoric or philosophical embellishment, he shared a sentence that I believe came not merely from his mind, but directly from the depths of his being.

It was a spontaneous, authentic expression of his innermost convictions, offered to us with complete honesty and clarity:

“Everyone has something they love, and my love is production…”

In this seemingly simple statement, every word carries its true and profound meaning.

There is nothing repetitive or clichéd about it, because he genuinely loved production. What he believed in so deeply, and what he had devoted his entire life to, flowed directly from his heart into his words.

This statement encapsulates an entire lifetime of dignity, dedication, and meaningful achievement.

It is the enduring essence of a life filled with purpose and blessings, a life whose presence, and even whose passing, inspired melodies of remembrance that people will carry in their hearts for generations to come.

May his soul rest in peace.

May his memory be forever cherished.

May the light of his legacy continue to illuminate the path ahead.
